Films with tribalism

The gold cuffs around his wrist remind me of the triabl theme, the also have shapes and patterns on them which make it more tribal themed.

I like the trousers he is wearing and the accessorizes around them, the trousers are gold and patterned and the on his waist there are beads on it and I also think the red part around his neck, this could easily be done by using my supra palette and making tape to create the shape.
Again I love the colours and brightness which has been used in these images.
Feathers and mask, tribal patterns

I love the bright colours in the costumes they really stand out and the colours relate to the tribal theme. The loins head piece also has relevance to the tribal theme because there is feathers coming off of the lions head.
I really like this image because I think her make up looks amazing. The make up looks  a little bit like a mask on her face the colours are so bold and bright they really stand out. I also really like the necklace she is wearing all the layers of beads make the necklace thick and chunky.

This video has a lot of tribalism in it, the colours used are bright and really and stand out a lot.  The clothes and accessories used have a lot of patterns, which relate to tribalism, they also have a lot of feathers in the hair and also on the clothes and masks. The jewellery around the neck again is very bright; they use colours such as red, blue yellow and orange. Some tribes say that the necklaces are seen a symbol of girls getting married as they have to have a certain amount of necklace’s around there neck’s and when there are enough to hold there neck up they are able to get proposed to by there admirer’s.

Mens hair...

The patterns which have been cut into the hair are really similar to the patterns which get tattooed on the faces of the Maori tribe.
I like the the shapes and patterns that have been cut into the hair, these sort of patterns remind me of the Maori tribe patterns that they use on the face.
For my editorial shoot, I am going to use a boy. As my model doesn't have a lot
of hair, i have decided that i am going to use fuller-earth on the hair and create shapes  such as
these ones and then i am going to use bright colour such as red yellow and blue
to colour in the patterns.

Hair trials with fullers earth

Here i applied fullers earth on the dolly's head down to the point of where i
wanted to put the colour on.

I applied fullers earth on to the hair where i plaited it, to see what effect it
would have on the hair.

All the parts of the hair where i appiled the fullers earth onto.

I started to apply aqua colour onto the hair, if you use a supra colour,
it will be quite greasy so you have to put shampoo on the hair before u put water on.

I added colour on to the parts in between the plaited parts of the hair,
to see what effect it would give.

Here i added silver on to the fullers-earth

Using fuller earth on the skin, and creating different shapes and patterns while
the clay is still wet. You can paint over the skin with supra colours.

I added gold and silver on top of the fullers-earth,
i then put lines through the silver parts.

Final look of my doll, Gold and silver going through her
hair.

Scarification-Test shots

To create scarification, you can use latex or duo. You can either draw on the pattern
with a pencil or draw it on with the rice. Here i dipped the string into
the latex and created a shape, i used the string
as a template.

Here i added on the rice with the latex, i put enough rice on the string to create
a thick build up to make the cut look deeper.

In this image i added a Supra colour which was near enough
my models skin colour.

Final look, here i used supra colours on top of the rice and then i
added a foundation that fitted with the models complexion.

Inspired by Maori Tattoo's

I was inspired by the Maori tribe to create this look, they use a lot of shapes
and spirals to create there tattoo's.

When creating this image i was inspired by the Atayal tribe. There
tattoo's are normal very sharp and thick lines that go though
parts of the face.

With this image i was inspired by the Yakan tribe,  they use a lot of
patterns and create lots of shapes with there patterns they are
also very detailed.

This is image is inspired by the Maori tribe they tend to have  tattooed lines going through there faces. I experimented here with different lines and shapes patterns to see what I could come up with.

With this image that I drew patterns and symbols which I was inspired by the Rodarte catwalk, and then on the face I was inspired by the Maori tribe some of the tattoo's are similar to this.

This image is similar to the image above, again I was inspired by the Rodarte catwalk theme, I experimented with different shapes a different patterns down the arm. I really like how this looks and might do this for my final look.

More experimenting...

This was free-hand work, to see how well we could copy an image
without stenciling it. We used our supra palettes to get this
effect.

Final images, I found it hard keeping a steady hand and trying to
get the image symmetrical.

To create this tattoo, I coloured over this patterned wallpaper with my supra
colours and then printed it onto the skin. For the parts where
the image didn't come out and went over it with my
 supra colours.

After doing free-hand work, I noticed that this is not one of my strongest point and need to practice to improve.  I felt that my hands a get very shaky and I can't make thing look symmetrical, if i keep practicing this should improve.

Experimenting with different methods of tattooing...

This method of tattooing was done by using an image from a magazine,
to print the image onto the skin we used acetone. The magazine can't
be shinny or it wont print on to the skin and you have
to make sure the acetone covers all of the image
it wont all print out.

Here i printed to images onto the skin to make it look
mosaic.

Where the images didn't print out I filled it in with my supra palette.
This type of tattooing gives you the advantage of having sharp lines and
creating different types of shapes.

This is my image after using my supra palette, i used to different colours
(pink and white) to see what effect it would give.
